Atlas for Mac: Your Trade Workspace on the Desktop

Public release: October 18, 2026. Added to the News archive October 30, 2026.

A place to return to the work

A supplier review rarely ends with the first answer. You open a certificate, compare it with the company record, follow a source, and return with a better question. The work grows around the conversation. It needs a place you can come back to without losing sight of the evidence.

Atlas for Mac brings that workspace to the desktop. Sign in with your existing Atlas account to research suppliers, review documents, and keep the conversation and its sources together. The current Mac release is available from our download page.

The conversation is the starting point

A conversation is useful because it lets you begin with the thing you need to understand. You do not have to decide in advance which screen contains every part of the answer. Ask about the supplier, then inspect the record or document that gives the answer substance.

The product challenge is making that movement feel coherent. A document should be recognizable when it appears in the conversation and when you open the source. A supplier record should remain the place where the evidence belongs. The conversation provides a way into the work; the connected records give it continuity.

That is the experience we are bringing to Mac. The desktop is another way to work with Atlas, using the account and workspace you already have. Feature access continues to depend on your plan.

Three large light interface panels highlight asking a question, choosing a source, and reviewing the conversation context.
An illustrative workspace brings the question, source choices and conversation context into one view. This is a source-derived preview rather than a live session from the public build.

An answer needs somewhere to land

We have written about a future in which more software work begins with a question. That future still needs durable records. A useful answer might lead to a document review, a supplier investigation, or an assignment that continues after the conversation. If the result exists only as a paragraph in chat, the next person has to reconstruct the work.

Atlas keeps the conversation connected to the material behind it. For a trade team, that means the document can remain close to the claim it supports, and the supplier can remain connected to the questions being investigated. The aim is a workspace where asking, checking, and returning to a record belong to the same experience.

Mac gives that work a dedicated desktop home. We are applying the same product direction across our interfaces, while letting each screen serve its own purpose.

Question, evidence, workspace record and next review cards connect above Mac and web labels.
A question leads to evidence, a durable workspace record, and the next review. Mac and web provide entry points to the same underlying records.

One workspace, different screens

The Mac app, the web workspace, and the Atlas connection in ChatGPT provide different entry points. Our Apple TV and iOS work explores other contexts: information that should be visible to a room, and questions that arise away from a desk. Those interfaces do not all need to look or behave alike to work with the same underlying records.

Availability matters here. Mac is available now; iOS and Apple TV are previews on the Apps page. We will announce those releases separately when they are ready. The Mac download page carries the current installer and system requirements, so it remains the right place to start.

Open Atlas for Mac, sign in, and pick up a piece of work that needs a closer look.
